1. Check the destination before downloading
A familiar logo is not enough. Read the full HTTPS address, compare it with the website shown on the app page and avoid shortened or misspelled links. If the final address is different, confirm the complete app name and logo again before downloading.
2. Check the APK file itself
- Confirm the filename, version and Android package name.
- Scan the file with a trusted mobile security service.
- Keep Play Protect and Android security updates enabled.
- Do not install an “update” sent by an unknown personal chat account.
3. Review permissions
A game may need storage or notifications, but unexplained accessibility, SMS, contacts, screen capture, device-admin or remote-control access is a warning sign. Deny a permission when the app cannot explain why it is required.
4. Protect the account after installation
Use a mobile number you control. Never share OTP, UPI PIN, password or screen-sharing access. Save the account ID and check the in-app support route before making a payment.
